From The Hills

This 60 page booklet of Mitcham Hills stories and photos, excerpts from the  1914 Blackwood Magazine, is a  unique record of local heritage, providing insights into early life in the district taken from the monthly publications by local Literary Societies of Blackwood, Coromandel Valley, Eden Hills and Belair.

 

The booklet was produced in 2014 by BAG’s History Committee to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Blackwood Magazine which unfortunately ceased publication after only one year so locals could focus on supporting the war effort.

 

Our booklet is available for $10 at Blackwood Newsagency with proceeds going to CFS and Legacy .  Over 1,250 books have been sold so far with $5000 going to the local CFS and Legacy in the spirit of intention of the original Literary Societies of Blackwood, Belair, Coromandel Valley and Eden Hills, producers of 1914 monthly editions of The Blackwood Magazine.
